IN2SMART2 - Strukton Rail operational planning

Aim:
Developing an operational planning tool that, based on the predicted condition of the track segments, schedules lean tamping activities in such that the lowest possible number of maintenance windows is used to ensure the highest possible network availability. The challenge for the infrastructure manager is to decide which track sections in the available maintenance windows should be tamped with which tamping machine in order to maintain the track quality at a desirable level. The machines differ in their processing speed and implementation costs on the one hand, and in the degree of potential improvement of the track parameters on the other. As a quality indicator for track parameters, the combination parameter (CP value) is used.
